Peres: Iran is building nuclear weapons for mass extermination“It is clear to us, without a doubt, that Iran is building nuclear weapons for mass extermination and not for peaceful energy needs” Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva arrived today on a state visit to Israel. The President was welcomed in an official ceremony at the President’s Residence that included an IDF military review. Three children from Jerusalem welcomed the Brazilian President in Hebrew, Arabic, and Portuguese and presented him with a basket of Israeli fruit.

Obama administration monitors Jews on Temple Mount
A member of the U.S. government met with organizers of Tuesday's "International Temple Mount Awareness Day" to pepper the activists about their intentions regarding Jewish ascent to the holy site. It was obvious," one of the planners told WND, "the individual who met with us from the Obama government was concerned about the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and what is being done to deepen it."

Fatah officials celebrated popular inauguration of terrorist square
Although world pressure forced the Palestinian Authority to cancel the official ceremonies to name a square after the terrorist Dalal Mughrabi last week, several senior Fatah officials participated in a "popular inauguration" organized by Fatah's youth movement. According to the PA, the square is now named after Mughrabi and an official ceremony, including placing a monument, will take place at a later date. Thursday's "popular inauguration" was on the 32nd anniversary of "the Coastal Road Massacre" of 1978, in which 37 were murdered in a bus hijacking.

Playing 'I predict a riot' in Jerusalem is a fairly futile game. The Israeli police expected one on Friday for a variety of reasons and it never happened, partly because they deployed 3,000 officers. Stones were thrown etc. but not what you would call a full-on Jerusalem riot. But the authorities remain braced. The city is in a febrile state. Rumours are circulating as they often do.

AP's Historical Revisionism on Jerusalem
Revisionism is big, at least when it comes to Jerusalem. For example, Ikrima Sabri, until recently the Palestinian Authority-appointed mufti of Jerusalem, told the German daily Die Welt in 1997 that "In the whole city, there is not even a single stone indicating Jewish history... The Jews cannot legitimately claim [the Western] wall, neither religiously nor historically."
