1. In his speech at Bar Ilan University on June 14, 2009, Prime Minister
Netanyahu announced the recognition by the State of Israel of the two-state
solution. Moreover, on November 25, 2009, the Government of Israel declared
a unilateral moratorium on construction for a period of 10 months.
2. Since then, the State of Israel has continued its engagement in improving
and strengthening the Palestinian economy and continues its
concession-making policy to the Palestinian Authority in a wide range of
fields (including civil, infrastructural, economic, commercial, political
and security-related matters). Indeed, over time, Israel has expanded these
concessions in terms of both substance and scope. The effects of these
concessions are apparent in the substantial improvement displayed by the
Palestinian economy, including, inter alia, 8% growth in 2010, a reduction
in unemployment and a marked rise in tourism.

What happened after the end of the 10 months period is over ?
If the Israelis are building new homes in the future Palestinian state that seems like they are going to stay there for another generation at least.

Real peace shall be realized weather homes are built or not? Is it not something deeper that is obstructing the peace we all hope for here in Israel?

Holding onto the arguament that building houses is the problem and the solution for Middle East peace would be "if the Jews would just stop building" doesn't hold any weight in the reality of the situation in Israel.
Hamas who say the Holocaust is "a lie made up by the Zionists" whose charter calls for the destruction of Israel and urges supporters to kill Jews, and Fatah - who in a recent poll were found to be not that far behind in their sentiments toward the Jewish people living in "peace and security"?
Building homes is the obstacle to peace?
Peace now - stop the settlements yadda yadda yadda infinitum....

Sure, building houses is not what stops the peace from coming here, it is the people who here and there who doesn't want peace. WE are so used to living in a war here, we just can't imagine living in peace. We are afraid of it.
