1 killed in mortar attack
 A 48-year-old father of three was killed in Kibbutz Kfar Aaza Friday evening after a mortar shell fired from Gaza hit his house in the kibbutz. Two mortars fired by Palestinian gunmen landed in the kibbutz, one fell close to the local community hall and the other landed on a house. Three people were injured in the attack. A soldier was moderately injured by shrapnel and evacuated by helicopter to Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.

Blood in streets of Beirut
 Blood ran though the streets of Beirut today as the Hezb'allah terrorist group stoked a mass protest and fierce clashes with assault rifles and rocket propelled grenades that paralyzed the city. The fighting is some of Lebanon's worst internal clashes since the country's 1975-1990 civil war. At least five people reportedly were killed and 12 more were wounded as the street...

Ahmadinejad: Israel a 'stinking corpse'
 Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that the state of Israel is a "stinking corpse" that is destined to disappear, the French news agency AFP reported. "Those who think they can revive the stinking corpse of the usurping and fake Israeli regime by throwing a birthday party are seriously mistaken," the official IRNA news agency quoted Ahmadinejad as having said.

Olmert vows to resign if indicted
 Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in a dramatic statement late Thursday night, said he has never taken a bribe or "a single agora" for himself, but that he would resign if the attorney-general decides to indict him as a result of a new police investigation. "I hope and believe that we will not get to this stage," he said.

Israeli scientist holds out hope of diagnosis by cell phone
 Israeli researchers have discovered a way to transmit medical images via a cellular phone, opening up the possibility of providing sophisticated diagnosis and treatment to millions of people who live a long distance from modern medical centers. Unlike existing systems, which are based on conventional, stand-alone medical imaging devices, Prof. Boris Rubinsky of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, has come up with the idea of a new medical imaging system...
