DFM Ayalon: There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. If the flotilla had a genuine humanitarian goal, then its organizers should have transferred something for the abducted soldier Gilad Shalit as well.

(Communicated by the Deputy Foreign Minister’s Bureau)

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon referred to the flotilla in an interview today (Saturday, 29 May 2010), and stated that "This is a provocation intended to delegitimize Israel. There is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza. If the flotilla had a genuine humanitarian goal, then its organizers should have transferred something for the abducted soldier Gilad Shalit as well. Their refusal to do so clearly indicates that humanitarian issues were not their goal. We will not allow the flotilla to enter Gaza, as this is an infringement of Israel’s sovereignty. We are organizing the information background, but information considerations are secondary to security and political considerations."

Deputy FM Ayalon referred to the boycott of Israeli products by the Palestinian Authority, and stated that "After Israel declared its acceptance of the two state solution, froze construction and removed roadblocks, the Palestinians are continuing their incitement against Israel. This is a rejection of mutual trust. It is impossible to talk peace on the one hand, while continuing with incitement on the other."

Regarding the situation in the Middle East, the Deputy Foreign Minister stated that "Israel is not escalating the situation. Iran is the only country who has an interest in escalating the situation in the region." He added further that "The continued smuggling of weapons to Hizbullah is a blatant violation of UN Resolution 1701."

GOOD FOR iSRAEL
Good for Israel standing their ground.!!!. .Im sick of hearing the sob stories about poor Gaza but no one says any thing about the rockets and terrorist hitting Israel ,all knowing who and why they do so .Its not up to Israel to feed them let them work for what they need as when the jewish people were there they worked for what they had.. i stand by Israel 100% to stop these so called helpful soft hearted that are always crying about the mistreatment of poor Gaza. and yet nothind is said of all the rockets etc fromthese rag heads hiding their faces taking the aid money for more strikes against Israel.. stand your ground Israel and tell all to kiss off. protect your land and people any way you can.Never give up another inch of the land God gave you and tell any country that wants a two state to go bury their heads... in the sand remember the words of The God and only Living God of Israel written in The Tora when God said never divide this land God Bless each of you and may His Hand be upon you

For Zion's sake I will not hold My peace, And for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, Until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, And her salvation as a lamp that burns. (Isaiah 62:1)
