Israeli Scientists may be about to break the power Arab oil has over the Geo-political world. Unfortunately this influence has worked against Israel’s interests for too many years. The Arab oil nations have blatantly used their powerful influence against Israel both on the world stage and the terrorist training camps.
Strategically Israel has built self-sufficiency in many areas including fresh water. This is one of the most crucial issues in the dry Middle East. Israelis are now leaders in desalinization technology, turning sea water into clean palatable water for drinking and agriculture. Unfortunately Israel is still dependent on oil imports to fulfill its needs. This dependency is most certainly behind allot of the decisions the Government has made in regards to the Palestinians.
Scientists at Ben Gurion University may have discovered an alternative fuel that can solve Israels dependence on foreign oil imports. This incredible discovery uses water and carbon dioxide to create what is called ‘green feed’.
The most interesting aspect of this ‘green feed’ is that it can be made into fuel using existing refining technology. Once refined it can be transported to your nearest petrol station in the same way fossil fuels are.
Ben Gurion’s lead researcher Professor Moti Hershkowitz believes that this fuel can be made commercially within the next ten years.
With the development of new technology that will allow Israel to exploit the oil bearing shale deposits in the Negev’s Shfela basin and the recent discovery of 36 trillion cubic feet of natural gas off its coast combined with alternative energy advancements Israel is one step closer to total energy self sufficiency.
While the worlds energy reserves continue to dwindle the need for alternative energy will become a growing necessity. These advancements and discoveries will undoubtedly strengthen Israels Geo-political standing and has the potential to make Israel an alternative energy powerhouse. Could Isaiah 42:6 have really meant that Israel will be powering the “lights of all nations”.
