by Tom Brennan,
In America today we have serious divisions and quarrels. Then gap between those who value the Constitution and those who expect the government to provide for their every wish is growing. Europe is no stranger to this as well. From our beginnings God told our parents to depend upon Him alone for what was needed in life. Our ancestors chose differently and were made to leave the perfect place where they lived and earn their food. But God said He would take them back and the Messiah signed off on their renewed covenant. The original error is being repeated over and over as God is removed from any mention or consideration in pursuit of mindless and boundless pluralism that recognizes no absolutes or God. There are circumstances.Today’s social media is full of preppers, End Times websites , YouTube videos and rapture predictions. Many are ready to flee the tribulations and hide out until the Messiah returns or they are raptured away. It is important to consider when thinking about the rapture that it is not a teaching clearly stated in either Hebrew Scriptures or the Apostolic. Paul was a Pharisee who believed that Torah was Divinely inspired and the resurrection would follow the End Times. Christians need to consider that they will be put to the test as many of their fellow believers are now being persecuted, cast out and murdered in the Middle East, China, North Korea and other hostile nations.
Preppers counsel a bug-out bag. Survival gear, food with a 25 year lifespan, custom bunkers with water supplies and electrical generating equipment, arms and ammunition all are sold online and at big box stores. But in Israel no one has a bug-out bag. They have sirens and shelters for Hamas and Hezbollah rockets; they have IDF reserves of citizens ready to reinforce the men and women, Jewish and Christian, Arab and non-Arab of the IDF. They go to work in the morning and return each evening, they begin the day with “Shema Yisrael” and if God blesses them, they end it the same way before sleep. They live in Israel because God gave it to Abraham and his descendants in an eternal covenant.
The world has lost its way. Many are controlled by governments which distribute benefits, entitlements and act like wise parents. All that is expected is to give the place once given in obedience to God to a secular deity. He said “Have no other gods before Me”. It’s that clear.
Israelis have no bug-out bags. They keep the covenant made by God with Abraham. Christians need to look to Israel for the courage and determination to not retreat.
