3 suffer shock as Kassams hit Sderot
 Mortar fire victim Jimmy Kedushim, 48, was laid to rest in the Kfar Aza cemetery as projectiles continued to rain down on the western Negev Sunday afternoon. Rockets pound western Negev. A number of mortar shells were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel late Sunday afternoon. Earlier Sunday afternoon, four people were treated for shock in separate incidents as two Kassam rockets fired from northern Gaza hit Sderot.

Ark of the Covenant altar found in Sheba's palace
 The queen of Sheba's palace at Axum in Ethiopia, purported to once have been the home of the Ark of the Covenant, has been found, archaeologists from the University of Hamburg report. The Ethiopian queen was the friend and ally of King Solomon of Israel in the 10th century before the Christian era.

Iran-backed Hizballah offensive closes in on Israeli border
 DEBKAfile’s military sources report: Hizballah’s advance on two key Lebanese locations Saturday, May 10 had immediate effect on the strategic balance between the Iran-backed Shiite group and Israel. Sidon in the south, Lebanon’s second largest city, which provides Hizballah with control of a continuous coastal strip from its southern Beirut district all the way to Tyre.

'Bush to offer Israel powerful radar'
 The US may offer Israel a powerful radar system that would greatly strengthen Israeli defenses against ballistic missiles while incorporating it directly into a growing US missile shield, Reuters reported on Saturday. US President George W. Bush is expected to discuss the issue during his visit to Israel on Wednesday and Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of the state, people familiar with the matter said, according to the report.

Qassam lands near Sderot synagogue
 Two Qassam rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, one landing near a synagogue and an education institution in the southern town of Sderot and another landing near an educational institution within the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council. On of the worshippers at the synagogue told Ynet, "We heard the explosion and were certain that the Qassam had landed inside our synagogue. The place is close to a school, and we thank the Lord on this day for the fact that no child was hurt by shrapnel or killed, God forbid."
