In 1978, the American artist, Robert Indiana (b. 1928), created a 13-foot-tall steel sculpture to the people of Israel. The work, using the four letters of the Hebrew word ahava (love), is based on his well-known word-sculpture "LOVE".
Gold Plated Brass.
Made in Israel.
Size: 1.25 inch.
The work is a gift of Dr. and Mrs. Raymond Sackler to the Museum and stands in its seven-acre Billy Rose Sculpture Garden. Designed by the eminent landscape architect-sculptor Isamu Noguchi, it is considered to be one of the most outstanding art gardens in the world.
The Israel Museum ahava (love) product line is adapted from the sculpture.
This item comes with a certificate of authenticity of the Israel Museum, Jerusalem. Enclosed is a small description of its historical background in English and Hebrew.
