There are some events that have happened in Jerusalem in the recent past that I\u2019d like to talk about in some detail. It\u2019s important to include you as much as possible in real life events here since what is presented by the news media in general is so sadly biased against Israel. As I\u2019m sure you already know, on the 23rd of October there was a terrorist attack in Jerusalem. A member of Hamas, someone who served time previously in prison on terror-related charges, purposefully veered his car off the road, across the railroad tracks and drove through a crowd of people at a light rail station. An eyewitness at the scene told reporters that the car hit a mother and baby carriage and then continued plowing through the crowd, injuring seven. \u201cThe stroller was shattered and the mother was screaming,\u201d he said. When the car hit the stroller, it sent the baby flying 30 feet into the air and caused massive and fatal cranial injuries when she hit the ground. And a short time later, all efforts to save her failed and little three month old Chaya Zeisel Braun died.<\/p>\n

Chaya Zissel Braun murdered by terrorist<\/p><\/div>That very day Chaya\u2019s parents had taken her for the first time to the Kotel (the Western Wall) to celebrate her life. For many years the parents were childless and were overjoyed when they finally gave birth to a daughter. The night that she was killed, her grandfather, visiting from the United States, told reporters, \u201cHer parents waited many years for a child. Today they were coming back from the Kotel and a terrorist came and ran over their baby.\u201d In the Israeli newspapers the next day was a heartbreaking picture of precious little Chaya at the Western Wall just hours before her life was senselessly snuffed out. At the funeral the next day, the father, Shmuel Elimelech, led a tearful eulogy of his infant daughter, saying, \u201cYou were pure. I want you to look down at me and smile. Tomorrow is your three month birthday. It\u2019s all now in God\u2019s hands. We will always remember you,\u201d he cried. (Arutz Sheva)<\/p>\n

Karen Musara<\/p><\/div>In a blog that I wrote some weeks ago but which has not as yet been posted, I explained that when I was growing up, every Jewish mother wanted her son to be a doctor. There were jokes like one son became the President of the United States and the other son became a doctor, and the son that the mother bragged about was\u2014the doctor. It just highlighted the reverence for human life that is very much a part of the Jewish culture. And in the same blog I told that in the local Muslim world, mothers want their children to become martyrs, to kill as many Jewish people as possible. It was heartbreaking to see that in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, in Gaza and throughout the Arab world, Muslims celebrated the murder of this innocent and much loved little girl.<\/p>\n
