by Tom Brennan,
In the Gospels Yeshua says “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth”. He also says “learn from Me for I am meek and humble of heart”. Modern day thinking considers “meekness” and humility to be passive and weak. Biblical thinking looks beyond semantics and pop culture. Meekness in Biblical terms is strength under control. The recent history of Israel and relations with the United States and Europe is fraught with insults, deliberate attempts to influence Israel’s elections and a general anti-Israel and anti-Semitic attitude. We need to look to the character of Israel and learn what true meekness means.
Israel’s future is ordained by the eternal covenant made by God with Abraham, and eternal is just that, eternal. Israel will exist no matter how many armies, boycotts, terror attacks or betrayals anyone can muster. PM Netanyahu meets with others for a regular Bible study and seeks guidance not in the advice of men but God. He is the most mortal of men and flawed like all of us. Yet his traveling to America to meet with someone who deliberately tried to have him voted out of office, has allowed his staff to slander him and Israel shows a character that is guided not from instinct and personal gain but by the Word of God he studies.
Israel must defend its people (of all religions who live as citizens in The Land), its lands given by covenant, and the trust to protect the place where the Messiah will return in the last days. PM Netanyahu will be the recipient of an award by the prestigious American Enterprise Institute and it is well earned and deserved. It will be accepted on behalf of all Israelis, Jews, Christians and Arab Christians and Muslim who live lawfully within the land of Israel.
Forgiveness is not a weakness; it demands strength and a degree of expectation that the enemy or perpetrator will not commit the offense again. Forgiveness does not grant license to continue the abuse, or to enable the one in error. We can put this idea to work in our personal live and in how our nations conduct diplomacy. As Ronald Reagan once said, “trust but verify”.
In America we say, welcome back Mr. Netanyahu. Thank you Israel for your example of diplomacy, true meekness and covenantal strength.

This article is refreshing. Mr. Netanyahu is the perfect leader for Israel in these times. It is clear that his heart is for Israel and her people. G-d bless him.

May The Lord and the Almighty God , the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob increase and multiply the blessings upon the land of Israel and all the Jewish people wherever they are on the surface of this earth. To the immortal and invisible God be all the glory, blessings and honour now and for ever more. AMEN and AMEN.

God bless PM. Netanyahu and God bless Israel.
Ezekiel 38 states I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling with-out walls.
Thus says the Lord God I am against you, I will turn you about and put hooks in your jaw, I will bring you out and all your army, horses and horse-men.
They will fight against Israel, but will never prevail, for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, is their defence.
Am Yisrael Chai, the Nation of Israel lives.

I used to enjoy these blogs. I may be an American, but as a Christian, Israel is felt as home too. When the TV News is on and I hear the word “Israel”, I stop everything because I care so much for our homeland. What concerns Israel concerns me.
The Israel PM is a great man and I admire and respect him for his work towards peace. Now I read on these blogs how ALL Americans are anti Israel and anti semantics. So many Jews, Christians, etc in America support Israel and don’t agree with our government agreement with Iran. But we will never hear this on this blog. Instead we will be grouped together in a stereotypical picture of a people who are anti Israel and anti semantics, with nothing but crime in the streets, and evil to the core. I feel this blog is anti American, anti Christian, and totally one sided. So many times I have written to this author. But will he post my view? I think not . All that you will read is what he wants you to hear. What happened to the Christian values in this man? Did his anger change his heart? Is he still a Christian?

Dear Randall,
your comments are published on this page and they are read and appreciated for their honesty. My writing is aimed at support for Israel and for trying to awaken an American audience which all too often gives in to a mass media, soundbite type of news. I am a loyal American, based in rural Idaho and have hopes that “One Nation under God” will again be on everyone’s tongue.
We see today how a passive audience has come to rely on press releases and op-ed pieces on major media channels for facts about the relations between Israel and the United States. The attitude of the current administration has been wholly pro-Iran and pro-Islam and very much anti-Israel, anti-Semitic and anti-Christian. Social media numbers are the opposite and show overwhelming support for Israel by many people from many walks and churches. We need to confront the declarations made in tyhe media by public officials regarding Israel and the Middle east as well as the increasing pressure on Christians here in the form of Gov. regulations, court decisions and law suits. Thank you for your comments, we do read and ackmowledge them.
sincerely,
Tom
