by Tom Brennan,
Today wars and rumors of wars are a daily fact of life especially in the Middle East. As Western nations attempt to bribe and appease a nuclear Iran and expanding Caliphates rage throughout the region, Israel and its neighbors face twin onslaughts of a nightmare vision of the future. At the soul of this battle are two contrasting worldviews. One is based on a Book, authored by G-d that contains a guide and code of life that Jews and Christians follow. The other was constructed by a man who took truths from the Bible and placed them within the context of his own understanding. The books in conflict are the Bible and the Quran. In secular terms they both contain an ideology for a way of life and despite some similarities both are dramatically at odds. Both have adherents who place their beliefs at the core of their being and others who use them as a means to achieve their own goals. One way or another both ideologies have believers whose fear of death is not on the equivalency of secular ideas: they do not fear death at all.Western nations fully believe that everyone places material and financial ends at the top of their list and that anything can be negotiated. The violent sects of Islam now engaged in battle do not accept this view. All the bombs and bullets will not deter them from their goal of bringing about their end of days’ timetable and their Mahdi. The only way to defeat their ideology is with a stronger one. Herein lays the greatest challenge to Christians in support of Israel. The verses that declare Israel to be a special place to G-d are clear and obvious; no other allusions to any other place are made. Israel and Jerusalem are not symbols of other places. The Messiah ascended to heaven on the Mount of Olives and will return “in like manner”. Can these holy places be in the hands of those who reject the Bible as truth?
The church will have to return to its ultimate guide for a plan: the Bible. The Bible is shared by two faiths with common roots and bonds. Both have Israel as a place of anchor. “I am the Lord thy G-d”. There is no allowance for any other, any compromise or negotiation, treaty or equal time. Unless Christians reform their Biblical position Islamic sects with a worldwide agenda, armed with swords and nuclear weapons will continue their rampage. Action in our homelands and in the world press and media are essential to confronting this genuine enemy. The Bible is not politically correct nor is it a menu from which to select the least objectionable course. Our traditions are not equal to the Words of G-d as recorded in Scripture; we cannot edit or change them. Israel will not fall nor fail, but we can.
The solution to the conquests of Islam in the Middle East and the world are basic: prayer and entreaty, placing full trust in G-d’s Word and supporting Israel. Princes and horses, bullets and bombs; none are as mighty as The Book. Many pastors will refer to the “uncompromising Gospel” in sermons. Can we compromise on the continued existence of Israel? On my desk sits a small souvenir package from Israel. It contains soil, water from the Jordan, frankincense, olive oil and an olive wood cross. All these are small pieces of a place that I may make an aliyah to, and then perhaps they are as far as I’ll get. But these physical things remind me of the fact that they are written of in the Bible, the soil has been buried and reburied. The water from the Jordan is from the river that Joshua crossed and where John baptized Yeshua before the great Redemption began in earnest. I will not accept these as relics of something gone and conquered by an enemy. The Bible does not compromise and neither will I.

Please know that all of America is not asleep, True Christians know exactly what’s happening and we are both terrified and very mad that we have a no good radical muslim destroying our country. True Christians will be forever true to Israel and the Jewish people. I am so sorry for everything obama is doing to you. Hard times are ahead for sure, but God is in control and you will win in the end. Again, there are many more than you realize who stands with you. I wish Bibi was our president!

as Christians, why are we surprised at the world events? as a bible scholar, reading Daniel and revelations, this is prophecy coming true. I am hopeful that the nation of Israel knows that we many in the USA do not hold the beliefs of the current administration. I know that a friend of Israel is a friend of God and an enemy of Israel is an enemy of God. I hold the nation of Israel up to God in daily prayer as I do this nation of mine. God is not asleep and He is not fooled. He is just patient, full of love and grace so that no man would perish and spend eternity in hell. Let not your hearts be troubled but be in His spirit and rest.
