“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” (Genesis 12:3)
The covenant that God made with Abram as reported in Genesis 12 included a blessing for all of the nations of the world that blessed the seed of Abram (Abraham) and a curse for those that cursed it. These words have never been truer as the Jew hating Arab nations descend into total chaos while nations such as the US benefit from the many inventions and innovations continually coming out Israel.
While war rages in the Gaza Strip, hundreds of thousands of Syrian civilians are dead or wounded and their homes are totally destroyed. ISIS, the Islamic terrorist organization that now claims a large part of Syria and most of Iraq is systematically raping young girls under the pretext of marriage arrangements while it destroys the cultures of the areas it now dominates and tortures and kills all who resist its fanatical advances. Christians have been forced to flee for their lives from all of Syria and Iraq. The dark blanket of Sharia law has fallen over this new ISIS Caliphate where the simplest offenses can mean the loss of a limb or one’s head. In the name of Islam and the holy Koran, now millions have become prisoners living in their own land.
In the Gaza Strip under the control of a similar fanatical Islamic organization, Hamas, women and children are being forced to act as human shields for the launching of rockets from homes, schools, and hospitals against the homes schools and hospitals of Israeli women and children.
Using the claim of Israeli oppression due to the “occupation,” Hamas continues to convince the world through a strangely compliant world media, that their cause is just and true and that only they are the ones who are suffering and in need of liberation. Meanwhile, as one unilateral Israeli ceasefire after the other is broken by the continuing shower of rockets on Israeli cities, including its central population centers of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, Israel is forced to pound Gaza with shells and bombs in an attempt to bring the rocket attacks to an end. All this while the world looks on pointing its finger at Israel for its disproportional response to the shelling of its own people.
Hamas continues the fight knowing that the more casualties caused by Israeli shelling, the greater the support it will receive from international sentiment as indeed, the streets of major Western cities including those of the US, are filled with thousands marching in protest of the Israeli “atrocities” against the “innocent” Palestinians living in Gaza.
While Israel is ready to bring an end to the fighting Hamas continues to make demands that would only mean a rearmed Gaza in a very short amount of time. Israel demands that Hamas be disarmed while Hamas demands that all borders be opened, and that they are allowed to build a seaport and international airport, both of which would be used almost exclusively for the shipment of arms into the Gaza Strip. The international community including the UN, the EU and for the most part, the US, see these demands as justified under the false and deceptive belief that doing so would allow Gaza to become a normal society.
