by Tom Brennan,
President Donald Trump will make his first voyage to visit world leaders this month. His itinerary is significant since it focuses on key areas where US influence has been weakened. He will visit the Vatican and meet with the Pope. Pope Francis inserted himself questionably in the election process by denouncing President Trump’s plans to stop the unhindered flow of illegal immigrants into the USA. The Pope’s increasingly pluralistic statements and activities such as visits to mosques, recognizing tie Palestinian Authority and openness to Islam has caused some within the church to question his status and a symposium on what conditions would cause the deposing of a Pontiff was held by Catholic conservative leaders in Paris. The only decision was that the Pope was in full authority for governing the Catholic church but as to who would decide how to present any case for deposition for heresy, no decision was rendered.
President Trump will visit Israel. The drastic about face from the overtly hostile attitude towards PM Netanyahu, the well-financed effort to influence the Israel election process, outright insults allegedly made my Obama associates, all these have been reversed by the firm handshakes exchanged at PM Netanyahu’s recent visit to the White House. The images of the 2008 Obama “apology tour” are now history. There’s a new energy and all of it positive in Washington.
The President and the PM have much in common. Both have wide and successful experience in business. Both are decisive, firm and confident. Both face constant criticism and outright lying from liberal media. Both are the right man in the right place at the right time. The world is in a state of alarm and wars and rumors of wars. Much of this can be traced to the Obama-supported rise of Iran, the funding of “rebels” in Syria and the totally fabricated “Russian hacking” of the recent election. They have their work cut out for them in working to subdue The Islamic State and an aggressive, expansive and well-financed Iran.
Both are vocal about their faith in God. In a world where leaders take a popularity poll for every move, prefer political correctness over truth, choose the “wide gate” over the narrow one and place Islam is a co-equal position to the God of the Bible, both men stand apart from their peers and do so confidently.
Thanks Israel for being patient while we Americans “get our act together”. We think you will like “The Donald”. And, Mr. Abbas….”you’re fired!”
