Part I Part II
By Esther Korson
It’s a gift to be alive in this amazing time in the history of the world, when Biblical prophecies have been fulfilled before our very eyes and continue to be fulfilled! The key to it all was the fulfillment of God’s promises to His ancient people. He kept us as a people during 2000 years of exile from our land. He kept burning in our hearts, wherever we were across the face of the earth, the hope from the depths of our hearts.” Next year…in Jerusalem.” None of it would have been possible without His hand upon us as a people and without the covenant He made with us so very long ago!
And then it happened! The nation of Israel was born in a day! We returned home from more than 100 nations! The desert blossomed like a rose! He promised to protect us, and He has! No weapon formed against us has prospered! And I just know that He will also keep His promise that we are not going to be removed from this land again.
“Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob’s tents, and have mercy on His dwelling place… in the latter days ye shall consider it…” Jeremiah 30: 18-24
“And I will bring again the captivity of My people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God…” Amos 9: 14-15
“Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely.
And they shall be My people, and I shall be their God:
And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them, and for their children after them:
And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me.
Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with My whole soul.” Jeremiah 32: 37-41 (see also Jeremiah 3:18; 32:37-41; 31:8-11;31:35-38;30:18-24; Isaiah 43:5-6; 49:8-13Micah:2:12; Psalm 105: 7-11)
It is the Lord God of Israel who does not want this land to be divided again. It is the land that He gave to us, the Jewish people. The sons of Ishmael have also been blessed, as He also promised. The combined land size of the Arab countries is 650 times the size of Israel. Israel is the size of New Jersey, and the Arab countries are the size of the United States, all of Central America and Mexico combined. Arab dictators control 13,486, 861 square kilometers in the Middle East. Israel controls 20,770 square kilometers. The population of Israel is roughly 7 million compared to 300 million living in the surrounding Arab countries. The Arab nations are represented by 22 separate Arab countries.
There is only one Jewish nation with a tiny country, Israel. How is it imaginable that we can divide our tiny space up again—since Jordan and other areas are still part of our Biblical heritage—and turn it over to our enemies? Are the Arabs meant to be sovereign everywhere and the Jewish people nowhere?
And that brings us to the point of why, even unto this day, the Palestinian Authority refuses to recognize Israel as a Jewish country. They don’t want a portion of Israel, they want all of it. They don’t want peace spelled in the conventional way; they want Israel—piece by piece by piece until we simply cease to exist at all. Here are a few facts and statements to help you to know that we do not have a true partner for peace and that we cannot turn any of this land over to a so-called “Palestinian” entity.
Check out any “Palestinian” map. It covers the entirety of Israel. Check out the Palestinian news media and text books. The school children and the people are taught to vilify Israel, to de-legitimize us in every way, to count martyrs who have blown themselves up killing Jewish people as heroes. Prisoners who have murdered Israelis, when released from prison in Israeli goodwill gestures, are given a heroes welcome. Children are taught that to be a martyr and to kill Jewish people is the best that they can aspire to.
We left the Gaza Strip during the Disengagement Plan, a very painful moment in the history of modern Israel. But it didn’t lead to peace with the “Palestinians” in the Gaza Strip. As reported by the Israel Defense Forces, since Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza in 2005, more than 8,000 rockets have been fired into Israel, most of them capable of reaching Israel’s biggest southern cities. Rocket fire from Gaza continues to be a constant threat to Israeli civilians. Actually, more than 3.5 million Israelis are currently living under threat of rocket attack, with more than ½ million having less than 60 seconds to find shelter after a rocket is fired. That is a scary statistic! The threat is real and the danger is real. If another Palestinian entity were to be established within Israel’s boundaries, the whole rest of the country would likewise be within rocket range, including Jerusalem, Ben Gurion airport, Tel Aviv, etc. Remember, this is a very small country!
Three times the surrounding Arab nations tried to destroy us, bragging that they would end our existence forever. But as the Bible says, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” Thinking about it all simply puts a song of praise into my heart. God’s protection and His love and His promises are REAL! Halleluyah! (A Hebrew word, by the way!)
