Isaiah 62:1 “For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth.”
The main topic of conversation in Israel today is of course the war being waged against the forces of darkness manifest in the Islamic terror group of Hamas. I was just now speaking with friends and we all agreed that this war feels different than the conflicts we experienced before. When we analyzed the ‘why’ of this feeling we concluded that it was because of how completely twisted this conflict has become in the eyes of the world.
While every Israeli knows deeply how this conflict is justified and how proud we are in the way our IDF forces have tried to preserve the lives of both Israelis and Palestinians we are bewildered at the outright and unjustified distortion of reality that is being portrayed in the west. We are dumbfounded at how our supposed closest ally is rewarding the genocidal terrorists in Gaza through a misguided truce. How can this be when the facts are easy to find and the truth is plain to see?
By now I am sure most of you have been ‘bombarded’ and challenged by the onslaught of reporting and opinions and the more you hear the more it tests you and the position you once held in regards to Israel. I am sure that some of you who once stood confidently for the Nation of Israel are now being tried in extraordinary ways. I also know that some of you are no longer so sure that your stand for Israel is the righteous one.
Imagine for a moment what it is like for us here in Israel when we are facing an enemy that is terrorizing the whole nation and at the same time we are being abandoned and ridiculed by the whole world. Imagine how it feels for us to know in the core of our humanity that we have no choice but to defend ourselves and yet we are told that what we are doing is ‘disproportionate’ or ‘genocidal’. When we see the mass rallies taking place all over the world against us and the obvious distortions and lies being spewed by the media our sense of isolation and rage at the injustice of it all grows more acute every day.
We don’t have the luxury of being somewhere else where we can weigh the information presented to us and then decide what is right or wrong. We are here on the front-lines and the indulgence of choice or opinion has been taken away from us. The choice to live or die is all that is left for us here in Israel. So despite what the world thinks we must persevere and fight the good fight.
Make no mistake my friends; you are in this war as well. The difference is that you can choose to fight for Gods plan for the Nation of Israel or not. As believers you have an advantage. You have the Bible to inform you about what is happening and why. The Bible also informs you on how to act in these times.
I ask you right now to put on the full Armor of God and join the war being waged in the spiritual. The spiritual war is raging even more so than the physical war and you are the targets. You are the innocents who are being bombarded with missiles of lies and distortions. You are being viciously attacked by principalities, by powers, by the rulers of the darkness of this world, by spiritual wickedness in high places with the one goal of tearing you away from the Truth.
You have the tools in the Word of God to fight the spiritual fight. Our vision with the ‘News from Jerusalem’ blog is to arm you with the Truth about the physical Israel as well. You must arm yourself with knowledge! Our enemies are cunning and are working tirelessly to take you out of the battle. You too must be tireless in your search for Gods truth because when you lose confidence and have no answer to the lies of the enemy you become weak and it is then that our enemy can come in and destroy you.
I ask you to become the warriors you were called to be on behalf of the one true God! The God of Israel!
Isiah 63:6
“I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence,”
